Naperville, I.L. – May 6, 2016 – Southern Tide, the brand that continues to evolve and reinvent the boundaries of classic Southern style, will be opening its second signature store in the new Water Street development of Naperville, Illinois. Having successfully launched its new women’s collection and the better-than-ever Skipjack polo, Southern Tide looks to make its mark on the Midwest with its Southern charm and eclectic style. Island Sport, which opened Southern Tide’s first signature store in Kiawah Island, South Carolina in 2015, will bring the Southern Tide brand to Naperville this fall.
“The Southern Tide team is excited about our growing partnership with Island Sport and beginning a new partnership with the Water Street District in opening our first signature store in the Midwest,” commented Christopher Heyn, CEO of Southern Tide. “Southern Tide’s unique approach to a spirited American lifestyle continues to resonate with customers, new and old. We’re thrilled to take this next step in bringing our branded lifestyle to the Midwest and are delighted to have joined the Water Street District family. Our signature stores and retail partners are the perfect way to connect with customers and show them all Southern Tide has to offer. No one ever wants to leave the warm sands and open air of the oasis that is the beach, but with our products, you’ll feel like you never left.”
The new signature store at Water Street will be about 2,100 square feet and will have the signature Southern Tide drift boat hanging from the ceiling. Southern Tide will be just one of a highly curated group of retail stores inside the development. Located on Water Street, near the downtown area of Naperville, the store will feature men’s, women’s and youth apparel and footwear as well as accessories from the South’s favorite lifestyle brand. On the heels of its 10-year anniversary and with the expansion of its men’s collections as well as new collections for women, Southern Tide is looking to make its name further known in the fashion and retail space.
Loren Beadle, owner of Island Sport, knew that “this was a compelling next step for Island Sport and Southern Tide. After we saw such success in our Kiawah Island store, it only seemed right to expand our efforts to the Midwest. Naperville had everything we are looking for in a community and with the new Water Street District development, the partnership just seemed like the perfect fit.”
